There is little difference between pairing a Bluetooth device such as one of JBL’s wireless speakers or one of JBL’s Bluetooth headphones (such as the Reflect Mini BT) and pairing a Bluetooth device such as one of JBL’s soundbars. To do so, follow the procedures outlined below:
- Make sure that your JBL device is in pairing mode.
- Locate your JBL device on your phone or laptop and link the two devices together.
- Confirm that the matching was successful.
- Check the status of your Bluetooth connection.
Set up your JBL device in pairing mode
You can easily setup your JBL device in pairing mode by following these steps:
When you turn on your speaker, headphone, or soundbar, if it hasn’t already been linked to Bluetooth, it will instantly enter pairing mode when you turn it on (you should notice the LED light blinking). Even if you’ve already associated your smartphone with the speaker, you may manually set it into pairing mode by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button for at least 3 seconds, until the LED begins to flash (JBL speakers normally have a dedicated Bluetooth button). The Power button on JBL headphones is often used in conjunction with the Bluetooth button).
Locate and link your JBL gadget
This can be done with your Android device on your phone or laptop. Bluetooth may be enabled by going to the Settings menu. To pair a new device with Bluetooth, select “Pair new device.” When you see your JBL gadget appear in the list, choose it and it should be automatically associated with your smartphone.
iPhone. Bluetooth may be found under Settings > Bluetooth. Bluetooth should be enabled. To connect, locate your JBL device under “Other Devices” and touch on it to begin the process of connecting.
macOS. On your Mac, go to the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then choose Bluetooth from the list. Choose your JBL device from the drop-down menu, and then click Connect. Accept the offer if you are prompted.
Windows 10 is the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system. Either by clicking on your Bluetooth button in the toolbar and selecting “Show Bluetooth devices” or by going to “System Settings” and selecting “Bluetooth & other devices” from the drop-down menu.
When the Add a device box appears, select “Bluetooth” from the drop-down menu. To connect, locate your JBL device in the list and press on it to initiate the connection. Alternatively, type “Bluetooth” into the search bar of your Windows operating system. When the Bluetooth & other devices window appears, make sure Bluetooth is turned on, then click “Add Bluetooth or another device” and choose your device from the drop-down menu that appears.
Confirm that the matching was successful.
After properly pairing your JBL speakers or headphones with your phone or laptop, the LED on your JBL device will stop flashing, and you should hear an audible confirmation that your device has been successfully associated with your phone or laptop (either a tone or voice confirmation).
