The following methods can be used to connect your JBL speakers with your PC or your laptop. Let’s get started.
Connecting a JBL Speaker to a Computer or Laptop Using the AUX Input:
Because they are both powered by the Windows operating system, a laptop and a computer are almost equivalent in terms of their capabilities.
A single window that is installed in a laptop and a desktop computer performs virtually identically and with nearly comparable configurations.
Consequently, the technique to pair your JBL speakers to your personal computer or your laptop is quite similar to that of other speakers. It is dependent on the method of connection you prefer, such as AUX, a USB connection, or Bluetooth.
You will need to use a linked connection in order to pair your JBL speaker to your computer because not every computer comes equipped with Bluetooth built-in.
Consider the following scenario: we have a JBL Charge 4 speaker in our possession. It is possible to use this method to connect any extra JBL speaker that has similar pairing options as the speaker that is now being connected.
If you want to use an AUX cable to pair your JBL speaker to your laptop or computer, follow the steps given in this section.
- As a first step, you should obtain an AUX cable
For this step, there are a few things that you will require, first of all, you will need an AUX cable (in simple words the 3.5mm jack cable).
To connect your device, you’ll need an AUX cable, which is also known as a 3.5mm jack cable. On both ends of this cable, there is a 3.5mm jack for connecting devices.
- Cover for the Lift Slot
The second step requires you to get access to the life slot located on the back of your JBL speaker.
Connecting ports for the AUX cable and USB devices can be found in this section of the gadget.
- Connect the AUX cord to the computer
In the third step, connect one end of your AUX cable to the port located on your JBL speakers. After that take the other end of the AUX cable and insert it into the audio port of your computer. Make sure that your device is turned on, and is working properly. Also double-check the ports.
In order to use your computer’s AUX ports, you must connect them to a device that has the icon of a headphone on its surface. When it is inserted into the microphone port, it will not function.
- Turn on the JBL sound system
If your JBL Charge Speaker isn’t turned on already then turn it on by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds. Once turned on, your speaker will display a blue light just behind the power button. The light will blink for a few moments.
- In the Windows Sound Menu, select the Sound option to play a sound
In the fifth step, head towards the Start Menu. You can easily locate it on the left corner of your screen. In the start menu, type Sound. After that, a Sound Tab will appear on your screen, all you have to do is click on it.
After clicking the Sound Tab, a dialogue box will appear on your screen. Here you will be able to access the list of all the audio devices connected to your computer or laptop.
- Choose your JBL Speakers
You will notice that your JBL Charge 4 speaker is listed in the sound dialogue box, in addition to the other speakers. Click on it with your right mouse button and then select “Connect” from the context menu that opens.
It is safe to assume that your JBL Charge 4 speaker has been successfully connected when you see a green check mark appear on the speaker.
- Using a computer or a laptop to play audio files
If you are using a computer, you should play any audio to see if it can be heard through your JBL speaker. Then, retrace your steps to check if you made any errors along the way.
